Closing Time.

Today I handed in my notice at work. It was a bittersweet moment that to be honest, I hadn't been looking forward to. I wished that I could have had more time, earlier on, with all of my amazing friends from work. But adventure calls, and I've learned that I am not one to resist the pull of new and exciting things.
My feet have been itching for a while now.
It was a similar feeling that I had prior to handing in my notice at the Legion almost a year ago. I knew it was coming, I knew I had to do it; I was just afraid to leave the comfort of it. I enjoyed working at the Legion; spending my days talking to the regulars and having my friends lounge around on Saturday nights whilst we watched Saturday Night Live on the big screen that Ron complained we didn't need, even if he asked me everyday at 5:00 to turn it to Two And A Half Men because, "That Charlie Sheen, he's in a lot of trouble now, isn't he, kid?"
Yes, it was bittersweet to hand my notice in but I know that there are exciting times ahead, people to meet and good times to be had. I'm looking forward to the bright streets of Bristol. I'm looking forward to living in England. I'm looking forward to doing quintessentially English things like drinking Pimm's on a sunny day trip to the seaside, or drinking Somerset cider in the city pubs. I'm looking forward to nights out in a new city, making new friends and honing my international resume. I'm excited for England.
Being closer to Jamie is going to be an exciting perk, obviously. A couple of hours' drive is a big improvement on living in different countries.
19 days left in Edinburgh.
It seems so long ago that I was making the same countdown to leaving Canada. I was a very different person back then; I'm happy with the changes and the changes to come.
Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end.
