Tuesday! What a day! We went down for breakfast at the hostel. BBC was on with news of the riots in the UK. It was raining outside, so we caught the trolleybus to the Bata Shoe Museum. it was a pretty extensive museum; I must say I was impressed. They had a collection of Juno winners shoes, so that was pretty cool. We went to Kensington market afterwards and perused the neat little shops and had some good Mexican food. The market was very 1960's-esque. We walked back to the hostel through Chinatown past all the street stands selling funny-looking, prickly Asian vegetables and fruits.
We got back to the hostel, had a nap (hey, we were tired!) and then headed out to a Lebanese place on the corner for falafels.
That evening we put on our dresses and heels with the intention of a night out on the town, but ended up down at the hostel patio, which turned out for the better! We sat down with Daniel from Newcastle, Australia; Bryan from the Jersey Shore (no joke) and later on, three guys from England and two from Toronto joined us. Many rounds were bought and after the bar closed and we walked/swayed through the city a bit, I ended up in my dorm around 6am. Needless to say, it was quite a fun night with new international friends.
"Tight-Ass Tuesday" at Global Village Backpackers is probably my favourite memory of Toronto.
